THE LOCATION

The village of Santo Stefano di Sessanio sits high within Abruzzo’s Gran Sasso e Monti della Laga National Park—one of Europe’s largest and most biodiverse protected natural areas.

SHUTTLES

We are providing group shuttles to and from Rome and the ceremony.

  • Rome shuttle assignments: See your assigned Rome shuttles here. (The ceremony shuttles have space for all guests.)

  • Changing shuttles: Shuttle capacity is based on your previously indicated preferences. If you want to change shuttles, contact Marco to check availability (Whatsapp: +39 345 300 8101; Email: sales.sstefano@sextantio.it)

  • Pickup locations: Exact pickup locations will be shared by email and posted here a few days before your arrival.

FRIDAY SHUTTLES

To Santo Stefano:

  • 11:00 am from Rome Fiumicino Airport (FCO)

  • 12:00 pm from Tiburtina station

  • 2:45 pm from Tiburtina station*

    *To get from FCO to Tiburtina, take the FL1 train (€8, departures every 15 minutes). Contact us with questions.

SATURDAY SHUTTLES

To and from the ceremony:

  • 3:45 pm from Santo Stefano car park to Calascio

  • 5:15 pm from Calascio car park to Santo Stefano

    These shuttles have space for all our guests. Driving yourself is possible but not recommended because parking is challenging.

SUNDAY SHUTTLES

To Rome airport directly:

  • 10:30 am from Santo Stefano to FCO airport

To the BBQ and Rome airport:

  • 11:15 am from Santo Stefano to Ristoro Mucciante (BBQ location)

  • 2:00 pm from Ristoro Mucciante to FCO airport

    Important details: The same bus that takes us to the BBQ at 11:15 am will continue directly to the airport at 2:00 pm (rather than returning to Santo Stefano). This means:

    • If you are continuing to the airport from the BBQ, please plan to check out of your room and bring your luggage with you at 11:15 am — you’ll be able to leave your luggage securely on the bus during the BBQ.

    • If you are returning to Santo Stefano after the BBQ and have a car, please drive (and let us know if you have extra space). There is plenty of parking at Ristoro Mucciante.

    • If you are returning to Santo Stefano after the BBQ and do not have a car, please contact us and we will find you space in a car.

OTHER TRANSPORTATION

Car rental: Renting a car in Italy is easy, and driving in the scenic Abruzzo region is a pleasure. This is a good option, especially for guests who plan to explore the region or stay outside of Santo Stefano di Sessanio.

Public transportation: Santo Stefano di Sessanio is not directly served by trains or buses. The closest transit hub, L’Aquila, is served by bus from FCO or Rome Tiburtina Train Station. Taxis from L’Aquila to Santo Stefano take 30 minutes and are priced around €60.

  • Bus to L’Aquila: FlixBus (from FCO or Tiburtina), Gaspari Bus (from FCO), or TUA (from Tiburtina)

  • Taxi from L’Aquila to Santo Stefano: Taxi L’Aquila 0222 or pre-arrange with our wedding coordinator (see below)
