THE LOCATION
East of Rome, the Abruzzo region stretches from central Italy to the Adriatic Sea and is defined by dramatic Apennine mountain landscapes, vast national parks, medieval hill towns, and the storied Trabocchi Coast.
The village of Santo Stefano di Sessanio sits high within Abruzzo’s Gran Sasso e Monti della Laga National Park—one of Europe’s largest and most biodiverse protected natural areas.

TRAVEL
Airport: We recommend flying into Rome Fiumicino Airport (FCO), a two-hour drive from the village.
Car rental: Renting a car in Italy is easy, and driving in the scenic Abruzzo region is a pleasure. This is a good option, especially for guests who plan to explore the region or stay outside of Santo Stefano di Sessanio.
Shuttles: We are providing group shuttles to and from FCO for guests arriving on Friday and leaving on Sunday or Monday.
Friday (from FCO): Departures at 12:00 pm and 4:00 pm
Sunday (from Santo Stefano): Departures at 9:00 am and 2:00 pm
Monday (from Santo Stefano): Departure at 8:00 am
Guests who choose to use these shuttles will need to notify us and our wedding coordinator which shuttle you are taking and share your flight information.
Public transportation: Santo Stefano di Sessanio is not directly served by trains or buses. The closest transit hub, L’Aquila, is served by bus from FCO or Rome Tiburtina Train Station. Taxis from L’Aquila to Santo Stefano take 30 minutes and are priced around €60.
